One of the best contemporary novels that I have read in the past six months was The Kite Runner. Interestingly enough, it was a student who recommended it to me. I have placed it on my advanced placement banned and challenged book presentation list and plan on teaching the novel next year after the AP exam. I am looking for discussion group ideas and other classroom activities.
